Tadqiqot aqlli shartnomalarning an’anaviy huquqiy shartnomalardan farqini, avtomatik ijro mexanizmlarini va qonuniy kuchga ega bo‘lish masalalarini ko‘rib chiqadi. Natijalar shuni ko‘rsatadiki, aqlli shartnomalar shartnoma huquqining asosiy tamoyillarini qondirishi mumkin, ammo yurisdiksiya, kod va huquqiy til o‘rtasidagi farq, texnik xatolar risklari kabi muammolar mavjud. AQSH va Buyuk Britaniya kabi davlatlar aqlli shartnomalarni huquqiy tizimga integratsiyalash ustida ishlayapti
