Abstract
The article examines issues related to ensuring fire and explosion safety of tanks used for the storage of petroleum products. Based on an analysis of the main hazardous factors arising during the storage and technological operations involving petroleum products, the sources contributing to fire and explosion hazards are systematized. Particular attention is paid to the formation of vapor-air mixtures, the presence of ignition sources, increases in pressure and temperature, loss of tightness of tank equipment, and the development of emergency scenarios.
