Zamonaviy jarrohlik amaliyotida tikuv materiallarining o‘rni beqiyos bo‘lib, ularning xossalari, biokompatibilligi, yallig‘lanish jarayonlariga ta’siri, to‘qima regeneratsiyasini qo‘llab-quvvatlash darajasi, antiseptik modifikatsiyalari va mexanik barqarorligi jarrohlik muvaffaqiyatining asosiy komponenti hisoblanadi. Ushbu maqola tibbiy tikuv materiallarining evolyutsiyasi, tabiiy iplar davridan tortib yuqori molekulyar sintetik polimerlar, kollagen asosidagi biosintezlangan tolalar, antibakterial nanoqoplamali sutura tizimlari va smart-biomateriallar rivojigacha bo‘lgan jarayonni keng qamrovli ilmiy tahlil qiladi. Klinik amaliyotda tikuv ipini tanlashning immunologik, biokimyoviy, fizik-mexanik va texnologik asoslari chuqur ko‘rib chiqilib, jarohat bitishi fiziologiyasi bilan sutura materiali o‘rtasidagi murakkab o‘zaro ta’sirlar ilmiy dalillar asosida yoritiladi. Shuningdek, zamonaviy nanokompozitlarning yallig‘lanishga qarshi xususiyatlari, polimerlarning gidrolitik parchalanish kinetikasi, sutura iplari yuzasidagi mikrostruktura va porozlik darajasining infeksion xavfga ta’siri ham keng izohlanadi.
