Abstract
This article provides a scientific analysis of how the milk-yield indicators of Hissar ewes depend on their age and level of nutrition. During the study, ewes aged 1.5 to 6 years were observed in separate groups, and the lactation period, gross milk yield, daily milk yield, and milk fat content were determined for each group. In addition, changes in milk yield under three different feeding levels (low, medium, and high) were investigated. The results showed that the maximum milk yield was observed in the group of 4–5-year-old ewes, and that an increase in the feeding level significantly improved milk yield (p<0.01). The study is of practical importance for developing recommendations on the effective use of the Hissar breed for dairy purposes.
