Abstract

Spinal cord tumors are rare but serious growths of abnormal cells within or surrounding the spinal cord. They can be either benign or malignant, with symptoms varying based on the tumor's size and location. Despite advancements in medical technology, diagnosis and treatment remain challenging due to the tumor's sensitive location. Current diagnostic methods involve a combination of clinical examinations, imaging, and biopsy. Treatment options include watchful waiting, surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy. Ongoing research is focused on improving early detection, understanding the genetic and molecular basis of these tumors, and developing more effective and targeted treatments.
