Abstract
Установление давности наступления смерти (давности посмертного периода, post mortem interval — PMI) относится к числу наиболее сложных и практически значимых задач судебной медицины. Точная или максимально обоснованная оценка времени, прошедшего с момента наступления смерти, имеет существенное значение при реконструкции обстоятельств происшествия, проверке показаний участников уголовного процесса и решении других экспертных вопросов. Несмотря на значительный прогресс судебной медицины, универсального метода, позволяющего с высокой точностью
определить время наступления смерти во всех случаях, в настоящее время не существует.
