Abstract
The present article examines the role of authentic materials in English language teaching and learning. Authentic materials are considered an essential component of communicative language teaching because they expose learners to real-life language use and cultural contexts. The study investigates the pedagogical value of authentic materials, their influence on learners’ motivation, communicative competence, vocabulary acquisition, and intercultural awareness. The article also discusses the advantages and challenges of incorporating authentic resources into English language classrooms. The findings suggest that authentic materials contribute significantly to language development by providing meaningful exposure to natural language and enhancing students’ engagement in the learning process.
